History

It was in 1999 that the visionary entrepreneur, Kobus du Plessis, first ascended a hill overlooking the West Coast farm he was to name Havana Hills. From his elevated position, Kobus surveyed the landscape below and gazed at Table Mountain and Robben Island on the horizon.

From The Outset, The Vision Has Been To Create World Class Wines

After a few moments of contemplation, a sense of purpose settled: to develop this land into one of the great wineries of the world. When Kobus du Plessis embarked on his dream of establishing Havana Hills as a world-renowned winery, he had the foresight of teaming up with the best technical and ground experts in the industry.

Every Team Member Plays a Vital Role

Since then the Havana Hills team has grown to include amongst others the renowned winemaker Nico Vermeulen, assistant winemaker Joseph Gertse and the highly skilled viticulturist, Rudi Benn. Today, the considerable input of this core team is complimented by the commitment of a dedicated squad of players, each contributing his or her own flair to the vineyard and cellar activities.
